Shari Freidenrich is the elected City Treasurer for the City of Huntington Beach, CA, a city with a population of approximately 200,000 and also known as "Surf City". She was appointed to this position in May 1996, was elected in November 1996 and was re-elected in both 2000 and 2004. Prior to her entering public service, Shari was the Controller for McDonnell Douglas Travel Company and prior to that a manager with Deloitte and Touché.
Shari graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting. Shari has been actively involved in both her profession and her community. She is the Immediate Past President of the California Municipal Treasurer's Association, and has been a member of their Board for over six years. She is a Certified Public Finance Administrator (CPFA) and has her investment policy certified with APTUS&C. She is the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach, a past President of Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach and was the Alumni President for Washington State University Alumni Association in 1999/2000. Shari is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
