
A native of Washington, D.C., Henry Young, III graduated from Eastern Senior High School. He went on to attend Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, where he earned both a bachelors of Business Administration in Economics and a Masters of Business Administration. He has been a member of APT US&C since 2001 and serves as the Chair of the Debt Policy Certification Committee.
Henry began his career as an Accounting Technician in the City of Jackson's Treasury Division and was later promoted to Treasurer and Finance Manager, within the City's Finance Division. He served as the Treasurer in Jackson, Mississippi for 10 years. He now serves as the Deputy Director of Finance for the City of Birmingham, Alabama. Henry is the Cub Scout Master for Pack 3417 at St. John A.M.E. Church in Birmingham, AL and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the South-Western Education and Leadership Training Non-Profit Foundation. Henry resides in Birmingham, AL with his wife Linda and their two children.
