The Oklahoma Association of Public Treasurers (OAPT) is proud to host the 46th Annual Conference in beautiful downtown Oklahoma City! The conference will be held July 24-27, 2011 at the Renaissance Hotel and Cox Convention Center. Nationally renowned speakers and training opportunities will be presented along with lots of fun and heartland hospitality centered in the Bricktown Entertainment District, all within walking distance!
The conference will feature an emphasis on preparing for, surviving and recovering from the financial, man-made and natural disasters that all treasurers experience. Oklahoma City is known as the leader in disaster recovery. The "Oklahoma Standard" is the level to which the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency aspires. Accenting the APT US & C Disaster Preparedness Manual, training sessions and speakers will highlight experiences with how treasurers continue to recover from the "Great Recession" of 2008 through 2010.
Oklahoma City's central location and diverse culture make it an attractive place for young and old to visit. Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport has direct flights to most major cities, and the city's location at the Crossroads of America, the intersection of three major interstate highways, also makes it an easy drive for most of the United States. The OAPT and Oklahoma City await you, welcome you and can't wait to see you!
