Bob Ponkilla
President, APTUS&C

For all the benefits and friends I’ve gained as a result of my relationship with the APT over the years, it’s truly an honor to be given the opportunity to give back to the organization as your President. It’s my privilege to serve and represent you, our members, and I’ll do everything possible to earn your trust and support in the coming year. This isn’t a responsibility that I take lightly as I know the work we do is important and can have a significant impact on our communities. What we do comes with a great responsibility to make sure we get it right.

I want to thank the Presidents that have come before me, many of whom I’ve had the honor of working with personally over the years. I promise to maintain the efforts, dedication and hard work that I’ve seen them exhibit. I couldn’t ask for better examples. My appreciation also goes out to the APT US&C Board of Directors. Please know you couldn’t have a harder working group that has always shown a great dedication to the Association. I look forward to working with each of them in the coming year.

My key initiatives for the coming year will include:
  • A renewed focus on YOU, our members. Expect to see efforts to reach out to you and your state organization. I want to hear your expectations and what we can do to serve you better. We will work to improve communication and responsiveness.
  • Continue the momentum from the Orlando conference. Begin extending the planning process for Memphis and future conferences to allow you more time to plan and coordinate with your management. You will be hearing updates on the conference throughout the year. The conference committee is working hard to make the Memphis conference an “experience” for our attendees.
  • We’re working to improve our educational services, which will include training webinars during the year. The CPFIM program is also being reviewed, with changes and improvements coming in the very near future.

These are a few of the items on this year’s agenda. For current members and potential new members, I would urge you to become involved in the organization and its committees. You can take an active role in making continued positive changes as we move forward.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in Memphis next July!
